Hi there I'm new here.Could anyone here tell me more about these products and is it worth the $$$?
Thanks in advance
The nominees are,in no particular order............
Seafoam,Broquet,Surbo,WAI,CAI,electric superchargers, underdrive pulleys and air dams.
I'm planning to use these on my ride but I got mixed reactions from everyone.
A zillion thanks to Carbibles.Without it and especially you Chris,I couldn't know more about my ride.

Cold air intakes, underdrive pulleys and modifications to the aerodynamics of the car can all help, but they will be minor improvements that will only get you small increases in acceleration.
I've never heard of Seafoam,Broquet,Surbo,WAI before, but a quick google for them unfortunately gives all of them top results in a search. Crap products should never come up on top of a search! I couldn't find anything for WAI, I hope it doesn't stand for warm air intake, because thats just a pod filter sitting in an engine bay sucking in hot air from the engine which is also rather dumb
Seafoam is just dodgy crap, as is Broquet and Surbo. You don't seriously think they work do you?

Okay, here's the info I got from around this tiny island called Singapore.
Seafoam cleans the bowels of the car.Eventhough a majority of mechanics and auto supplies don't know what seafoam is.
Broquet reduces fuel consumption, utilised by transport companies to save monthly fuel costs.
From its website surbo.net shows lots of cars here are using it.They even got testimonials and dyno tests.
As for the rest..........true........minimal improvements.
Here's some more:runflat tyres,nitrogen in tyres,grill blockers,motor-up formulas,water injection,vortex generator fins.
Btw,I'm all for fuel economy.Performance takes the back seat.

CAI - Will help. Increased air density is only a good thing.
Nitrogen Filled Tyres - Bit of a wank, maybe for super serious racing or some such.
Grill Blockers - Not sure what you mean but sounds like a stupid idea, grills are *generally* there for a good reason as an intake or exhaust air flow.
Water injection - apparently does work when setup correctly, no experience myself though.
Vortex generator fins - if designed and properly integrated with the car bodies aerodynamic flow they will help, like all aero aids, but only at high speed realistically and mainly for directional stability as far as I know. If you car doesn't already have them and your not willing to do a *lot* of aero testing to place and configure them they will be worthless.
Runflats - Good if your an economy person because it eliminates weight of spare (check whether this is offset by increased weight of the run flat tyres though, particularly because they will be added weight on a driven component, i.e. they're rotating mass).

Hi there, here's somethings I came across with.........................Tell me what you think.
Acetone, engine block heaters(no one uses them here,as far as I know), a supercharger paired with a turbo e.g. VW Touran,RCAI(really cold air intake)-utilising the air conditioning system to cool down the air even further, crank scrappers,Jackhammers - 12000 watts of extreme boombastic bass, fuel heaters, vaccum gauges - I use this for fuel economy.Don't know what others use them for (bling bling??)
If you've got other "products" to talk about,I wanna hear em.Peace.

using the a/c system to cool down the intake charge is ludicrous, any gain made from the colder air will be negated by the fact that the motor is having to spin the compressor.
crank scrappers only yield horsepower at extremely high rpms (think 7k+)
twin charging is neat but it adds complexity (to the point that most people don't do it)
the only time i'd use a fuel heater is if i was running a diesel on grease.
i really dont see the point of a vacuum gauge unless i was trying to diagnose an engine issue or tuning an intake for least restriction, a boost gauge on the other hand...

Also just listing a whole heap of technologies that you've heard of and expecting us to help isn't the best way to get answers yourself. Do a bit of research first
